Sometimes just proximity helps when you are going to life stag, that's my feeling of it anyway. I like being out and about, meeting people and just experiencing life to the fullest. Some people have the feeling that it is somehow social awkward to do things like go to the movies by yourself or out to any public event, I don't agree with this.

People can be alone, especially in public. It's easier that way, if you want to go somewhere you do it, you don't have to wait for permission or worry about anyone else's feelings on it. Even if you are in some kind of relationship, take a day off. Enjoy the world around with or without someone else.

Who needs to be in a couple when you have a best friend

Isn't a relationship really just having someone to excited to see you come home at night and to have someone to cuddle up on the couch with? That sounds like a dog to me and for them you don't have to worry too much about if they are mad at you or not.

My pet always wants to go on a walk with me when I am in the mood. They never complain when I want to watch my favorite shows and even helps me exercise, when I am in the park. I think a dog is a much better date most of the time.

So it has happened again, we come to the holiday that I loathe the most. And it isn't just because other people are having success or even the drive to date but it is for the social stigma for not having someone on that day. The whole peer pressure aspect to the day gives me a bad taste in my mouth towards dating for a least a month following that day.

My suggestion for that day is to either stay home or go to some location like a dive bar where everyone will be the same situation. These places will be your reprieve from the usual societal pressure that will have built up on that day.

Get lost in the crowds of Sundance!

I love when you are out and about and you feel bad for the people who are paired off because they can't have as much fun as the rest of us. This is how it is during the Sundance festival in Park City, Utah. There is so much going on and so many parties to hit that having a ball and chain, would at least, hinder enjoying the festival as much.

The number one reason to go to this festival "stag" is the fact that they often just have single seats that are open at most shows and they don't want to waste them. All you need to do is ask and there is a good chance that you may be able to walk in.

Whether you are out with friends or just at home for this Christmas holiday, I thought I would reiterate an important time honored tradition. Eat while you drink for tomorrow, you will not feel well. We all know the feeling of a hangover and that is not the feeling you want to have on Christmas day from you over celebrating on the eve.

When you are celebrating your holiday party, make sure that you mixing your drinks with either fruitcake or some holiday breads. Breads work well on absorbing alcohol and making sure that you will feel great the next morning. Also, drinking virgin eggnogs or just plain water at the end of the night will help out avoid a painful Christmas day.

On the night where most people are being harassed by your family, you have another plan. The one time every year that people feel like you need eat with family...those people that you will just try to avoid for the rest of the year. I say skip that and go out for the night. Either alone or with a few friends, you need to go out to a nice restaurant that is open and really be thankful for your year.

I had a few friends do this with me, a few years back. We called it Friendsgiving and it was the best Thanksgiving dinner that I can remember recently. We went out to a fancy restaurant, we had a nice relaxing night and no one was stressed at all over cooking. This is how holidays should go, we should worry about them all year, we should welcome them and in my opinion, this is the only proper way to do it.
